South African police are working on getting Bester and his girlfriend deported by the end of this week. They were nabbed by Tanzanian authorities this weekend and remain under heavy police guard there.

A delegation comprising of police, Interpol, Home Affairs and Correctional Services officials, are in talks with authorities in Tanzania about sending Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana back to South Africa as soon as possible.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe says that deporting the pair will be quicker than having them extradited.
