SAHRC Searches for Sustainable Methods to Tackle Racism

The Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is hoping to formulate a sustainable action plan to take on racism, racial tensions and inequality.

It comes as the commission is hosting a second National Conference on Racism under the theme of “Towards Social Cohesion, Non-racialism, and the Eradication of Racial Polarisation and Tension”.

It says this event comes at an opportune time to reflect on how the country at large has fared as it marks 25 years of the Constitution.

The extent of racism and bigotry in South Africa has increasingly been exposed even in places like schools.
