SA Cholera deaths increase to 15

The Health Department is continuing its investigations into the cause of the cholera outbreak in parts of Gauteng.

This as 15 people have succumbed to the disease nationally, with most of the fatalities reported in Hammanskraal.

Department spokesperson, Foster Mohale says that the public have been urged to refrain from drinking tap water.

Cholera is a virulent disease that can cause severe acute watery diarrhoea.

It takes between 12 hours and 5 days for a person to show symptoms.
