In this first episode. Radio 786 features the Cape Family Research Forum (CFRF), a dedicated group of amateur historians who are passionate about uncovering and preserving the rich history of Cape Town’s families. Founded by Hajie Shamiel Gamildien, the CFRF is a registered Heritage NGO based on the Cape Flats.

This network of enthusiastic family historians and community heritage activists is committed to exploring their ancestral roots from across the globe, tracing connections to the Malay Archipelago, the Indian coastal belt, the Macaserene Islands, and the East African coast.

We explore the fascinating work of the CFRF and discover how they are helping Capetonians connect with their past and preserve their heritage for future generations.

We are joined by Boeta Moegamat Kamedien and Boeta Shamiel Gamildien – researchers at the Cape Family Research Forum
