The Zionist lobby is going after retired judge Siraj Desai over his unapologetic stance against Apartheid Israel.

The South African Zionist Federation has lodged a complaint with the Judicial Conduct Committee (JCC) accusing him of being a politicised judge and effectively being in contravention of the judicial code.

It has taken issue with judge Desai likening Iran’s political and religious leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini to President Nelson Mandela – describing them as towering figures and for his criticisms of Israel.

The human rights organisation, Africa4Palestine has labelled the complaint against the anti-apartheid activist as ridiculous.

It further questioned the timing of the complaint as it comes when the JCC will be discussing the Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng matter. The top judge publicly undermined South Africa’s foreign policy when he voiced support for Apartheid Israel.

Africa4Palestine says it also cannot be ignored that the complaint against Judge Desai was notarised in Apartheid Israel.
