The community of Bo-Kaap held its annual mass iftar on Saturday night. Attendees brought plates and containers with food which they shared with each other in a show of community and displaying the generosity of Muslims in Cape Town. This was also a show of solidarity with people of Palestine as Palestinian flags lined the streets of Wale and Rose that complemented the pro-Palestinian artwork that was painted on the walls of its world-famous houses. The event ended just after Maghrib Salaah which was led by Mansour Shouman, a citizen journalist from Gaza who had been bravely reporting on the genocide being committed by the zionist entity since October.
