The Volkswagen Polo is the vehicle most likely to be involved in a car crash in South Africa.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation’s survey also found that they are most likely to be involved in breaking the speed limits.

Spokesperson, Simon Zwane says that the study assessed incidents from October 2017 to June last year.

During this time, over 48 000 cars were involved in nearly 38 000 fatal crashes.

The study also conducted an analysis of the top 20 vehicle models involved in fatal crashes.

These showed that the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Quantum were involved in 43.2% of fatal crashes.
