We’re only halfway through February, and many households are feeling the pinch. But for some, the financial problems are not due to any fault of their own.

Several cases have arisen, especially over the holiday period, in which unauthorised deductions have been taken from unsuspecting bankers’ accounts. For one person, these deductions were made in quick succession, without her being near a store.
