Recorded on-site from the streets of Lotus River, which have had a long battle for basic services. Among them properties damaged by water due to problems with the drainage system, while more people are forced to live in backyards, and have to contend with gang violence that threatens to flare up at any moment.

Radio 786’s People’s Parliament reflects the voices of the community of Lotus River.

Guests include:

  • Rashaad Allen – member of the Foundation for Positive Change
  • Bishop Paul Philips – Parkwood activist
  • Henry Hendricks – manager of Anne’s Toddlers and Welfare Centre
  • Yaseen Gabier – Grassy Park Neighbourhood Watch
  • Dr Gregg Fick – FINSA
