Palestinian residents of Naqab say they are living in fear following the formation of armed Jewish vigilante groups.

At the weekend, former Zionist-Isreali police officer Almog Cohen formed the Barel Rangers unit, claiming that there is inadequate police governance in the region. The vigilante group comprised of volunteers are set to undergo training in fighting terror.

In response, Palestinians have urged residents to take precautionary measures on social media, including not travelling alone or entering Jewish towns unless absolutely necessary.

Local activist Rafat Awaysha says the situation on the ground is dangerous and residents feel that their lives are being threatened.

He adds that Palestinians in the Naqab region have ensured Israeli incitement and racism for years.
