The death toll from a terrorist attack on a mosque in Pakistan has risen to over 90.

More than 150 other people were wounded in the blast that ripped through the Police Lines Mosque in the north western city of Peshawar. The act of terror took place during the Thuhr prayers on Monday. The mosque is in a heavily fortified area.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that this attack was an attack on Pakistan as it targeted those who defend the country. He says the sheer scale of the human tragedy is unimaginable. Sharif has indicated that a comprehensive strategy is in the works to restore law and order in the northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Peshawar is located.
