PAGAD G-Force leader accused of conspiring to kill a police officer

The leader of Pagad G-Force, Moegsien Barendse is being accused of conspiring to kill a police official and magistrate in Cape Town.

The targets – the investigating officer and magistrate are handling the case of Barendse’s two sons and a co-accuse who are charged with the April murder of three people in an informal settlement in Southfield.

According to the Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani authorities received a conspiracy to commit murder complaint last month. Upon investigation they found that Barendse allegedly conspired with other members of Pagad-G Force to assassinate the officials.

Barendse who made a brief appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court will remain in custody until his bail application, which is scheduled for January 17th next year.

Pagad G-Force is made up of individuals that were expelled from the People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (Pagad).
