Each of the recent tavern shootings has unique characteristics, which make them unlikely to be coordinated attacks.

This is the assertion of Police Minister Bheki Cele.

He says that there is no convincing evidence that these murders are being instigated by a third force.

In just three weeks, over 50 people were killed in groups in several parts of the country.

While the cause of the deaths of 21 teenagers at the Enyobeni tavern in the Eastern Cape is still under investigation, the incident in itself has caused many to worry.

This as the Alexandra shooting was reportedly related to a robbery, and the case in Mamelodi is alleged to be a fight over money.

The minister says that the KwaZulu-Natal incident was related to a fight over drug territory.
