CAPE TOWN -The Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry decided that South African Muslims wanting to perform the holy pilgrimage must go through the Nusuk Hajj platform. A move that effectively removes the 30-year-old South African Hajj and Umrah Council (Sahuc) from facilitating the pilgrimage.
It’s understood that seven operators had approached the ministry and advocated for the transition to this direct Saudi system as questions were raised about Sahuc’s mandate and legitimacy.
