No greenlight to be a spy: Zane Killian case

SHARE

Being a registered private investigator (PI) doesn’t give you the green-light to spy. This is the shared sentiment by private investigators working in the industry.

This follows the arrest of accused Zane Killian in connection with the murder of top Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear. Killian’s lawyers say their client was running a legitimate PI business. However, his colleagues say there are strict regulations and protocols that need to be followed. Killian has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and the unlawful interception of communication.

His lawyers denied all charges against him and provided evidence that their client is a registered investigator. Despite this, other investigators slammed the reasoning for Killian intercepting Kinnear’s calls.
