Several restrictions have been lifted for the Umrah pilgrimage.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had put several curbs in place over the past three years amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mask wearing at the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah remains compulsory.

And only Umrah pilgrims will be allowed entry into the Mataaf.

But many will be relieved as the age restrictions have been lifted, vaccine and PCR tests are no longer required for the Umrah, and all types of Visa holders will also be allowed to participate.

These come into effect as of the 15th Muharram 1444.
