At least 21 people have been killed after an explosion ripped through a mosque in Kabul in Afghanistan.

Another 33 people were injured in the blast. The imam of the mosque is among the deceased. Wednesday’s blast occurred during evening prayers.

According to witnesses and worshippers, the blast shattered windows inside the mosque and that of nearby buildings.

The motive behind the attack is unclear.
