With over 30 years of experience spanning journalism, PR, and communications, Martin Slabbert has seen the media landscape from every angle. From his days as press secretary to the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, to his current roles as Media Communications Specialist and Consultant as a consultant, and News Anchor at Eyewitness News (EWN), Martin embodies the rare ability to both report on the story and shape it.
In this episode of the Media and Marketing Show, we explore the unique duality of Martin’s career, navigating the line between journalism and communications, all while championing bilingual storytelling.
In 2024, Martin was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Public Relations Industry Association of Southern Africa (PRISA), a testament to his extraordinary contribution to the industry.
