Jeffery Donson could find his way back into the mayoral seat in the Western Cape town of Kanneland.

The Cape High Court has ruled in his favour, declaring that the occupation of the mayorship by the ANC’s Nicolaas Valentyn and deputy position by Leoni Stuurman are unconstitutional, and null and void.

Donson, a convicted child rapist, along with his deputy, Werner Meshoa, a convicted fraudster, were ousted in a vote of no confidence.

The ruling comes shortly after the same court set aside the ANC’s suspension of Stuurman and Valentyn. The pair were suspended after they unilaterally entered into agreements with other parties.
