Iran is boosting its military and deterrence power.

It has unveiled its first ever hyper-sonic missile, naming it Fattah, which roughly translates to opener.

The homegrown missile is said to move at a speed of up to Mach 15 that is over 5 000 metres per second, and has a range of 1,400km.

It also features high maneuverability and stealth ability to pass through radar systems.

It can breach and destroy anti-missile shields.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi says that they build missiles so that they do not suffer from the aggression of their enemies and that the enemies don’t even think of attacking them.

He further notes that message with this missile is that their might is to support the Iranian nation and the world’s oppressed.

The United States, Russia, China and North Korea are believed to be the only countries to have successfully tested hyper-sonic missiles.
