Guns confiscated in Kewtown, Cape Town

Weapons have been confiscated from a residence in Kewtown, Athlone.

Metro police made the discovery after receiving a complaint that a person was being threatened with a firearm. A detailed description was given of the suspect who was later spotted. Upon seeing the officers, he ran into a house as well as set a dog on them. Another suspect attempted to lock the door of the residence.

Metro police say a 22 Baby Brown pistol with two live rounds, and three imitation firearms were seized.

The two suspects were arrested for being in possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
