Giving Back – Tree Planting

SHARE

On Monday 5th October, Radio 786 gifted the community of Bonteheuwel five pomegranate trees.  The planting of the trees coincided with the certification ceremony of the Bonteheuwel Walking Ladies on the completion of their six-week Facilitator of Life Choice course.  The gifting of the trees is one of the legacy projects that form part of Radio 786’s 25th-anniversary celebrations.  Soraya Salie, Co-ordinator of the Bonteheuwel Walking Ladies says that it is a beautiful, fruitful way to bless Bonteheuwel with the heavenly fruit tree and that the community are humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude by Radio 786’s gift.

We thank the community of Bonteheuwel for the welcome and accepting of our gift, with a special thanks and appreciation to Councillor Zahid Baderoen from the City of Cape Town and the city’s Parks and Forestry Department for the donation of the pomegranate trees.
