Gang fight leads Police to discover weapons and drugs in Philippi

Police in Philippi have arrested three suspects on charges of drug and firearm possession.

It follows reports of a gang fight on Tuesday morning. Officers later observed suspicious movement at a Punt Road property in Phillipi Farms.

A swift operation led to a thorough search of the premises.

They discovered ten rounds of ammunition in a bedroom cupboard.  Large quantities of mandrax, tik, and unga were found in a Wendy house.

An imitation AK SA Arms firearm with blank rounds was also seized. The suspects, aged 26, 27, and 37, were arrested on drug and firearm charges.

They remain in custody at Phillipi police station, and will appear in Athlone Magistrates Court.
