Flotilla Activists’ “unacceptable” Treatment by Israel

International criticism is mounting over the treatment of the civilian Global Sumud Flotilla activists.

Italy has summoned Israel’s ambassador after Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called the images of bound activists “unacceptable.” Her comments followed a video posted by Itamar Ben-Gvir showing activists restrained on the floor.

The video also shows Ben-Gvir assaulting an activist, and forcing her to the ground. Ben-Gvir’s video shows the activists with their hands bound with zip ties.

An “Israeli” in the video claims that Gaza is a box that must not be opened. He says that those who try to see inside, will be dealt with by “Israel” as if they are terrorists. The activists were taking much needed aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
