NCC’s Fadiel Adams Arrested by PKTT

National Coloured Congress leader, Fadiel Adams has been arrested.

SAPS national spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, has told Radio 786, that Adams was tracked down by police and then apprehended. Adams told Radio 786 that he had expressed his willingness to cooperate with the police, and could not understand why they were tracking him down like a robber.

Fadiel Adams’ lawyer has questioned the reasoning for the issuance of a J50 warrant of arrest. Bruce Hendricks says such an issuance is the last resort to get someone before a court. Speaking to Radio 786, Hendricks said that he believes the police service could have issued the MP and National Coloured Congress leader with a normal summons, or requested him to come to the investigating officer for a warning statement.
Hendricks highlighted that the alleged offence the Political Killing Task Team is accusing Adams of was committed in January 2025. However, SAPS claims that they had gone through extensive efforts to locate Adams, including visiting multiple addresses associated with him.
But Admas hit back, stating that three weeks ago he had offered to comply in an email to KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the now suspended national commissioner and the police minister.
Adams faces charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice. He is accused of interfering in the murder investigation of ANC Youth League Leader, Sindiso Magaqa.
Adams previously stated that he took a statement from the man who killed Magaqa at the Westville Prison in KwaZulu Natal. He added that the killer implicated Crime Intelligence Head General Dumisani Khumalo. Adams has since opened a criminal case against Khumalo.

Member of Parliament and National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams:

– I offered to comply three weeks ago in an email to KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, now suspended national commissioner General Fannie Masemola and Police Minister Firoze Cachalia.

– I said to them please do not send masked armed gunmen to my house. I don’t want my children traumatised. I also don’t want the expense incurred on the SAPS on the state on the taxpayer, I hand myself over.

– What did they do? They sent masked gunmen to what they thought was my house to abuse and traumatise my family and abuse and traumatise an innocent family.

– We have since taken the matter where it belongs. We are before the Western Cape High Court.

– The judge has ordered the South African Police Services to present the information that they’ve hidden from us so that he can make a determination.

– Why now, when the South African Police Services find themselves before the court, do they put out a statement?

– Why did they not put out a statement before? Why did they not respond to my email? Why did they try to hunt me down like a bank robber?

– We will see the Police Services in court tomorrow [Wednesday] morning.

– The judge will make a determination on the lawfulness of this warrant and the lawfulness of their action and the role of [Crime Intelligence head] Dumisani Khumalo in all of this.

– I ask the South African public to understand that Dumasani Kumalo, the head of the PKTT, is in court on fraud charges that I laid.

– This is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate and discredit me, and it will be proven in court.
