Drivers whose licenses have expired during the various levels of the Covid-19 lockdown have been given an extra seven months grace period. The latest Government Gazette says learner licenses, driving and temporary license cards, as well as professional driving permits, are valid until the end of August 2021. The lockdown has had a negative impact on license renewals. Traffic centres are struggling to clear their backlog.
