Elsies River – A baby girl has been safely delivered in the arms of her mother at a busy intersection.

It comes after officers of the City’s Law Enforcement Anti-Land Invasion Unit were alerted to a young lady in distress on the corner of Halt and Voortrekker roads. The officers note that while they were extremely proud to have played a role in the birth – it was a daunting experience as they had no expert medical assistance and proper tools.

They also expressed their gratitude to the grandmother and the mother of the child for the calm manner in which they handled the situation.
