The plan, which was formulated by Police Minister Bheki Cele and Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, comes as six people have been murdered in the area in less than a week.

The Ministers were locked in a meeting with community members today to find a solution to the violence that had ensued.

Diepsloot residents accuse migrants of murdering five people over the weekend.

A Zimbabwean national has since been killed in an apparent community justice attack.

Operation Restore will allow for the deployment of 25 home affairs officials to the area for three months.

This as there are concerns that there are many undocumented migrants in the Gauteng town. A total of 16 police vans have also been deployed to the area.
