Councillors Told to Listen to Communities – Ramaphosa

With a record 66 hung councils emerging from the 2021 Local Government Elections, President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on political leaders to put aside their differences.

He says they should work together in a spirit of partnership and common purpose if they want to make this era better. I

t comes as some political parties have already ruled out going into coalitions with certain parties.

Minority and coalition governments have proven testing for the country. In some instances it has been at the expense of residents in those districts.

President Ramaphosa says politicians owe it to the millions of South Africans who voted in these elections to bring about the change they are asking for. He further notes that parties need to turn the promises they made on the campaign trail into reality.
