R2.2m Drug Bust in Beaufort West

There has been another major drug bust on the N1 highway in the Western Cape.

Over R2 million worth of tik was found during a search of luggage on a passenger bus in Beaufort West. Officers attached to the Police’s Central Karoo K9 Unit made the discovery.

A 37-year-old passenger travelling from Durban was arrested.

Police say preliminary investigations indicate that the narcotics were supposed to be delivered in Cape Town.

The suspect who faces a charge of dealing in drugs is set to appear in the Beaufort West Magistrates’ court.
