A committee will be formed to deal with poor service delivery at the Bishop Lavis Police Station and the Bonteheuwel Satellite Station.

The local Community Police Forum says they will be part of the Service Delivery Committee (SDC) which is scheduled to meet every Wednesday.

Their first order of business is to meet with officers stationed at the Community Service Centres. Thereafter they will discuss the 101 complaints that were received the previous week with the view of potential investigations and disciplinary action.

Residents have complained about officers being rude, telling them they can’t open a case if they don’t know the perpetrators and needing to wait long when a shift change occurs.

The Bishop Lavis CPF believes this intervention is a positive step as well as an important one towards better service delivery.
