An ANC-DA alliance is doomed to fail. This is the assertion of anti-apartheid stalwart, Reverend Dr Allan Boesak.

He was speaking as party coalition discussions continue. The ANC and the DA, which have long been at odds, have recently aligned on their economic policies.

Boesak notes that this has become more obvious under the Ramaphosa administration. These economic policies, which include austerity measures, have proven detrimental to South Africans, as public services have seen major budget cuts.

Boesak notes that if there is a coalition between the ANC and DA, it will cement the economic neo-liberalism that has become the norm in South Africa.
