Coalition governments are a betrayal to South African voters.
Political analyst Dr Ntsikelelo Breakfast contends that before the political elite rushes to form coalition states, they need to develop a reasonable conflict management system so it doesn’t impact council members’ responsibility of delivering services.
He was speaking as coalition governments are likely to increase in municipalities across the country. Breakfast adds that the challenge is that leadership is a two-way street, and coalition formations might deprive the public of participating in key decision-making.
