Another alleged case of local government-level corruption has been reported to Cape Town police.

The Cape Coloured Congress’ councillor Fadiel Adams says that he has uncovered corruption within the fleet management department. He notes that he has documents showing tender and employment irregularities in the department.

The City of Cape Town says that they are looking into the particulars of the inquiry. The fleet management department procures the vehicles on behalf of, and for the benefit of other departments within the municipality.

According to Adams, Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says that they had received a report about the fleet management department three months ago.

But he said that there was no wrong-doing even though the City’s forensic department was investigating the matter.
