After more than 25 years Western Cape High Court Judge Siraaj Desai is retiring. In an interview with Radio 786, he says come next year, he will not be an active member of the bench. Judge Siraaj says it brings to an end a career that started more than four decades ago. He says it has been a long road and that he is ready to hang up the boots. Judge Siraaj has presided over several high-profile cases but notes that one of the most important cases in recent times is where he dealt a blow to debt collectors who were improperly collecting money from millions of South Africans.
