Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara has been appointed as the Acting Head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC). Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi made the appointment in consultation with the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Andy Mothibi.
Vanara takes over from Advocate Andrea Johnson who resigned following her appearance at the Madlanga Commission. The Justice Department has described Vanara as an accomplished legal, governance and regulatory leader. It says he has more than 25 years of progressive experience across state institutions, state-owned enterprises, Parliament and other complex and highly regulated environments.
He currently serves at the executive level as Chief Legal Counsel of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU). Kubayi has wished Vanara well in his new role and expressed full confidence in his ability to discharge his responsibilities with integrity and conscientiousness.
