The Radio 786 Community Pulse team had the pleasure of broadcasting live from the Higher Education & Training Exhibition, where attendees explored a range of educational opportunities.
The event took place on the sidelines of the delivery of the Budget of the Department of Higher Education. In attendance was the Minister of Higher Education Buti Manamela and Deputy Minister Dr Mimee Martha Gondwe.

Minister Buti Manamela says government remains committed to expanding access to tertiary education and skills development, despite ongoing financial pressures facing the sector. Delivering his budget speech yesterday, Manamela outlined plans to strengthen TVET colleges, improve NSFAS administration, and create more workplace-based learning opportunities for young people. The department’s medium-term budget framework includes funding aimed at increasing university and college enrolments, while also aligning skills training with the digital economy, industrial development, and South Africa’s broader job creation strategy
