Major Drug Bust in Bellville

The Metro Police K9 Unit has made a major drug bust in Bellville, uncovering a large stash of drugs. Officers were patrolling the Parksig Villas area after 1pm. The area is known to authorities as a hotspot for illegal drug activity.

During the patrol, K9 officer, Virus, was deployed to scan a parking area. The trained detection dog quickly alerted officers to a suspicious vehicle.

Police inspected the hatchback through its windows. They spotted two bags believed to contain mandrax tablets. Officers then obtained permission to forcibly enter the vehicle.

A more thorough search revealed a far larger drug stash.

In total, 51 bags of mandrax tablets were discovered. Seven loose mandrax tablets were also recovered. Police also found 300 grams of cocaine and 300 grams of tik in the boot.

The estimated street value of the drugs exceeds R2.7 million.

The vehicle has been impounded and taken to Stikland for further investigation.
