The City’s Urban Waste Management Directorate advises residents that waste collection services will continue as normal over the upcoming public holidays on Friday, 3 April 2026 and Monday, 6 April 2026. Contingency measures are also in place to address any potential disruptions or delays during this period.
All scheduled waste and recycling collections (in areas where this service is provided) will proceed as usual, including on public holidays.
Residents are encouraged to:
- Place bins out as early as possible on collection days. Reduced traffic during the holiday period allows collection crews to move more quickly along their routes.
- Leave bins out until 21:00 to ensure collection.
Due to the increased risk of unplanned disruptions during the Easter period, residents should note:
- If your bin is not collected on the scheduled day, please put it out again the following day.
- Continue doing so until it has been serviced.
- Report uncollected bins after 48 hours.
Community Recycling Centres
Community Recycling Facilities and drop-off sites will operate as follows:
- Good Friday and Easter Monday: Saturday/public holiday operating hours
- Easter Sunday: Normal Sunday hours
Garden Waste Disposal Guidelines
Please note the following temporary restrictions:
- Commercial customers may dispose of garden greens only at Coastal Park landfill.
- Residential customers are limited to one load per day of garden waste.
Residents are encouraged to review the latest updates on garden waste disposal via the City’s official website.
