Two men have been shot and killed in Manenberg.
The victims, aged 34 and 27, died in separate but linked attacks. The first shooting happened outside a tuck shop on Tousberg Road. Witnesses say a silver Polo stopped and four armed men opened fire.
The 34 year old victim was hit multiple times and collapsed at the scene. Minutes later, the suspects targeted a 27 year old cyclist nearby. He was shot from the vehicle, then fatally wounded at close range.
Police recovered 29 cartridges, which will undergo ballistic testing.
Two counts of murder have been opened for investigation. No arrests have been made.
Manenberg has been gripped by incessant gang violence and the shooting comes as the South African National Defense Force has started deploying in Cape Town to quell gang violence.
