8 International figures appointed Ambassadors of Return to highlight Palestinian cause

The Global Campaign for the Return to Palestine has honoured a group of influential personalities around the world, granting them the title of “Ambassadors of Return”.

The figures include Arab, Indian, Spanish, Cuban and African figures, including Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the former South African president Nelson Mandela.

The first International Meeting of Ambassadors of Return took place in Beirut, Lebanon on 29 and 30 May 2023. It was attended by political figures and elites from around the world.

The 8 influential figures recognized as Ambassadors of Return are:

Mandla Mandela – The grandson of the anti-Apartheid struggle leader and former South African president Nelson Mandela

Alida Guevara – Cuban activist and daughter of the revolutionary Latin American leader Che Guevara

Ghassan bin Jiddo – Veteran Arab journalist and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Mayadeen Media Network

Manuel Pineda – Spanish representative in the European Parliament

Tushar Gandhi – Indian writer and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi

Hafeez Darraji – Algerian sports journalist

Moin Sharif – Lebanese artist

Hussain Al-Akraf  – Bahraini singer

The aim of appointing the ambassadors is to promote solidarity and enhance public interest in restoring the rights of the Palestinian people.

Abd al-Malik Sukariyah, Secretary of the Global Campaign for Return to Palestine said, “We are the owners of the true story, and we must publish it in international forums and in various countries of the world. So that world public opinion knows the truth about what happened in Palestine in 1948.
