5 Killed in Durban police shootout

At least five people have been killed in a gun battle with police in the north Durban in Inanda. Police raided the house after reports that it was housing men who have been terrorising the community.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Jay Naicker says when officers approached the house, they were met with gun fire and a 30-minute shootout ensued. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating the shooting.
