In a new wave of state terror, the Zionist regime has assassinated three leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) resistance movement and their families in Gaza,  occupied Palestine; while the joint command of the resistance movements has issued a warning to the regime to “get ready to pay the price”.

Israeli occupation media report some 40 jets were used in the attack. The entity’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen had spoken to his American counterpart Antony Blinken ahead of the aggression.

Among those targeted were Jihad Ghannam, the chief of the southern command of PIJ’s armed wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, and his wife.

The movement’s spokesperson Tarek Ezzedine was also hit, as well as the commander of the northern region of PIJ, Commander Khalil Al-Bahtimi.

Ten more Palestinians are among those killed by Israel, including children and women related to the martyrs. The illegal act was carried out on family homes.

In a statement, the al-Quds Brigades mourned the resistance fighters and their families emphasising “that the blood of the martyrs will increase our determination; we will not abandon our posts, and resistance will continue, God willing”.

The killings come only a week after Israel assassinated in one of its detention camps, PIJ leader Khader Adnan while on hunger strike.

But Zionist media report the targeted state terror attacks on the resistance leaders was already planned the weekend before Adnan’s assassination. It had been planned for last Tuesday, but instead Adnan died on that day and the plot was delayed for more ”favourable” conditions.
