Fourteen suspects accused of kidnapping and murdering six men in Kraaifontein have been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Cape Town High Court.

In December 2014, the suspects aged 25 and 56 allegedly stabbed, stoned, and sjamboked the victims after suspecting them to be behind the death of a security guard. Western Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Tembisele Patekile commended the investigating officers’ work.

Patekile appealed to communities not to harbour ruthless killers living among law-abiding citizens, but should instead assist police with information that will help in their investigations.
