Investigations are underway to determine how 113 plastic containers had been dumped in the ocean. The clean-up began as soon as the containers were spotted near Three Anchor Bay.
City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Marian Nieuwoudt says that they will make use of footage from CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the bay to identify those responsible.
She says that the containers appear to be empty. There is also no evidence of an oil spill in the vicinity.
