Police Corruption: how safe are South Africans?

South Africans’ frustration with commissions of inquiry is understandable, but it cannot be said that these investigations are ineffective. This is the contention of political analyst, Professor Steven Friedman.

He was speaking as Justice Minister Mamoloko Kubayi has signed the terms of reference for the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s allegations of political interference in police investigations. He also alleged that there is a drug syndicate with links to politicians and members of the judiciary.
