CAPE TOWN – The 37-year-old woman who allegedly kidnapped baby Mogamat Imaad Sharmar will return to the Bellville Magistrate’s Court next Thursday.

She is expected to apply for bail. The woman was caught with the barely two-week-old baby at a residence in Tafelsig in Mitchells Plain on Monday. She faces charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice. The suspect allegedly lured the infant’s mother. Imaan Sharmar, to a workshop in Bellville for young mothers. The 25-year-old believes the suspect spiked the drink she gave her while en route to the area. It’s alleged that the suspect fled with the baby using an e-hailing service.
