The month of September marks the anniversary of the martyrdom in detention of Imam Abdullah Haron by the Apartheid era regime.

Commemorating his sacrifice, as annual thikr (devotional remembrance prayer) is held at the gravesite of the Imam who is buried at the Mobray Kaberstaan(cemetery).
